Agape Homes CDC will build new homes on vacant lots causing zero displacement while increasing the owner occupancy rate in the neighborhood. All homes were designed through a community charrette over an eight month period.The biggest design consistency was that the families wanted stand alone homes with an open concept that could handle large family gatherings. All the homes have engineered drawings and are ready for construction. Agape Homes will build 90 community designed homes that will be sage (SAFE), affordable, attractive, and energy efficient.
All homes will be built in a likewise manner to fit the current and historical architecture of the Greater OST/South Union neighborhood. Agape Homes CDC was created to give the families in the community an affordable option to own a home. The Agape Homes affordable program continues to explore the best way to achieve a low monthly mortgage amount that would be consistent with current rent levels for equivalent housing. We believe if you can afford to rent you can afford to own!
